I would have to say that Gloria's is the absolute BEST soul food around Jackson MS! The food is very well seasoned and it tastes wonderful! Real good down home cooking! I had the fried chicken...white meat which was the breast and wing, yams, turnip greens and cornbread and it was all melt in your mouth delicious! My husband had the smothered pork chops with rice and gravy and lima beans and cornbread. My daughter had catfish, mac n cheese and corn nuggets and cornbread. All 3 of us had water to drink. The gentleman that owns it was so nice and kind from the time we walked in the door until we finished eating! We will go back because the food and service was outstanding!!!
So, if you're in the Jackson area just stop by and give Gloria's Kitchen a try! You'll be eating delicious and tasty food!

I wanted soul food and was told about this restaurant. This local restaurant is unassuming and super inexpensive. I pulled up and almost missed it. The only identifying sign is on the marquee. Meals seem to be $7.95 for a meat and 2 sides. I had a half and half Leonard/tea mix and dessert. My entire was less than $14. I ordered the chicken tetrazzini, turnip greens and yams with peach cobbler for dessert. None of it was delicious. None of it. The only thing yummy was the half and half. I drank it all. The tetrazzini was too cheesy. I ate a few bites and was done. I took one bite of the yams and said these aren't good enough to waste calories on. I ate most of the greens but they weren't amazing. The peach cobbler serving was huge but was over done and lacked flavor. It tasted oily. I threw it out.

If I'm in the city I will possibly try this food again but i won't be running to do so. Maybe today just wasn't a good day....

No! No! No! I ordered the meatloaf and it was still frozen! The lady had to heat it up and it was still cold! There was no seasoning on the food.  I'll pass on this place!
